Pastor Odukoya’s wife is dead.
Wife of Taiwo Odukoya, senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Nomthi, is dead.
Her death was announced in a post on the Instagram page of the senior pastor Tuesday evening.
“With deep regret and gratitude to God, I have to announce the passing of my wife, Pastor Nomthi Odukoya,” he wrote.
“She battled cancer for the better part of two years. She stood on the word of God, and she fought.
“She gave me 11 beautiful years of marriage and two wonderful boys, who I know will be very significant in life. I loved her with all my heart but who am I to fight the will of God.
“The truth is, at one point in our lives, we all will have to say goodbye. So for now, till we meet again in glory, Goodbye Nomthi.”
The death of Pastor Olukoya’s wife came as a rude shock after the couple had celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary in January 2010.
Recall that the marriage of Pastor Odukoya’s to Nomthi — a South African — came years after his first wife, Bimbo, died in the 2005 Sosoliso plane crash which occurred in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
Late Bimbo Odukoya’s was a televangelist who devoted a greater part of her time to the good of the family and solutions to relationship issues.
The death of Nomthi, Pastor Odukoya’s wife is a clarion call to everyone to make hay while the sun shines. This life we are living is not our own and we must give account of all our deeds when we are gone. After death comes judgement and as the Bible says, “What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul, or what can anyone give in exchange for his soul?”
May the soul of Nomthi, and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace, amen.
